Writing and Drawing: Not So Different

I've been busy filling sketchbooks. Once I got comfortable in the pages, it didn't take me long to realize that it's how I write. Whatever ideas are in my head...they all flow out if I let my hand take control. Very often, it's a challenge to begin, but I figured out a way to let loose. I just start (very lightly) drawing circles on the page over and over and over until they start to form something. Sometimes, a character appears, sometimes a whole scene...You should try it!

For more sketchbook inspiration, check out this post I wrote for Simply Messing About

Cheers!

  2. Love seeing your adorable characters! Thank you for sharing. I write and draw stories at the same time. I see the story unfold in my head so if I have something to doodle on, it becomes sketches and I am in front of my computer it becomes a sentence or outline or a quick write of the concept.
