My Sketchbook, My Journal

I post a lot of my sketches on Instagram and Facebook, but I so often neglect the extra step it takes to post to my blog. I'm trying to get better at that if you couldn't tell. :)

I don't like to share too many negative emotions online, but I've been feeling a little down lately. I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with all these sketches, but I keep making them. I'd love to put some of that energy into a book of my own, but the ideas come out very fragmented.

I've also been toying with the idea of doing a Kickstarter to print and distribute my sketchbooks, but I'm not sure yet. Not entirely certain it's something folks would want.

We'll see what happens!

Until then, I leave you with a peaceful little moment on a train... in the rain...with a girl and her cat.

Cheers!

  2. I just started following you on Instagram where your illustrations are a delight! I am a first grade teacher. With those young authors we often say start with your illustration that's where all the information for your story is. I want to use those same words to encourage you with your book because your ideas are already there. Happy writing!

  3. Keep up the sketching, of course! I think it's ok to not know where you're going, but if you keep playing with the ideas, you'll get there. In the meantime I will just enjoy the sketches as you post them (but I second that kickstarter support!). Sending lots of luck and good wishes.

  4. All it takes is the idea. The fragment. The right piece of the puzzle at the right time. Please keep going. xox
